The Paua Clinic is the jewel in the College’s crown

For many years, the Paua Clinic has been providing a community Naturopathic Clinic offering natural health and wellbeing services to the public.

The Paua Clinic student practitioners are final year students at South Pacific College of Natural Medicine, who are supervised by experienced practitioners. The Paua Clinic provides a valuable environment for students to apply their extensive evidence-based learnings into hands-on experience.

Becoming a client of the Paua Clinic is a unique experience. The student practitioners are thorough and, as part of their assessment, create a comprehensive health evaluation and health plan backed by evidence and approved by an experienced Supervisor.

What to expect:

The first appointment is 90 minutes and involves taking a full health history. The student practitioner will use this information to create an individualised health plan which will be approved before being presented to you at your follow-up appointment.

Anticipate that you will work with your student practitioner throughout the year, having regular follow-ups to assess effectiveness of recommendations, and make alterations as symptoms and situations change and evolve.

We offer free visits for those six (6) years and under, and over 65 years. We can help whether you have an acute health concern or a more chronic illness.

Be assured that the students have knowledge that covers pathophysiology, pharmacology, and other medical sciences. Recommendations are checked against possible interactions with medications and contraindications.

Naturopathy is particularly effective for digestive disorders, stress, fatigue, coughs and colds, women’s reproductive issues and a myriad of other health conditions.

Natural medicine focuses on a gentle approach to healing, in balance with nature.

All initial appointments take place in person only at Paua Clinic in Ellerslie, Auckland with the option for online follow up consultations by Zoom if required.
