Admission to the programme/s shall be subject to the approval of the Academic Board.
- For those under 20 at time of application: Applicants must have NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) in English, AND NCEA Level 3 in Chemistry*.
- For those over 20 at time of application: Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills in English; and provide evidence of proficiency in Chemistry*. Applicants over the age of 20, who do not have documented achievement in English Communication, will be required to undertake a basic English communication task before the offer of a place and acceptance on to the programme can be confirmed.
- Where English is a second language, applicants must meet the Academic IELTS overall band standard of 6.5 (with no individual band with a score less than 6.0) or equivalent before enrolment. Alternative evidence may be in the form of a TOEFL Certificate or proof of primary and secondary schooling through the medium of English.
*Applicants who do not have NCEA Level 3 in Chemistry or equivalent will be required to complete a free on-line Introduction to Biological Chemistry course and pass an attached quiz before enrolment is approved.
